Tamara is a Wadjella (non-Indigenous) Senior Research Officer with a research background in inter-cultural  and community psychology, and with a particular focus on Indigenous-settler relations. Tamara is passionate about research that seeks to improve issues of Indigenous inequality.

Tamara is currently working with Professor Helen Milroy and her team on the project ‘Building a culturally safe mental health system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people’.  This project works with key stakeholders and Aboriginal communities to ensure the research project and its findings are embedded within community needs, perspective, and culture.

Tamara is also completing her PhD, under Dr Carrington Shepherd, which seeks to deconstruct the socio-cultural tensions associated with Australia day. Tamara has extensive experience with diverse qualitative research methods.
